WorldSkills UK’s Spotlight on Careers series shines a light on skills for today and tomorrow. In a new 45-minute format, available on demand, these inspirational episodes help students future-proof their careers and educators to provide accessible and inspiring careers advice which meets Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4, 5 and 7.
The latest episodes focus on technical sectors including catering & hospitality, engineering & manufacturing, construction and digital, with a range of guest speakers including celebrity Maître d’hôtel Fred Sirieix and chef Tom Kerridge, industry experts in construction and digital, and new recruits including graduates and apprentices just starting out in their careers.
Each episode is broken down in to four segments including overview of the sector, young people sharing about their roles and own career journey, routes into each industry, including an interactive challenge designed to link the career to the curriculum, with a focus on STEM where applicable.
