Our Cornerstone Employers help to:
- Ensure all young people in their area have the opportunities they need to be prepared and inspired for the world of work
- Give back to their community and support the growth of their local economy
- Engage and develop with their current workforce
- Inspire students about their sector or industry
- Develop the skills required for the future workforce and build talent pipeline
Purpose
The Lancashire Cornerstone group are representatives of the key priority sectors and geographical reach of the Lancashire Careers Hub. Priorities for Cornerstones to support in Lancashire in 2023-2024 have been identified based on analysis of careers data and engagement with our partner schools, colleges, employers, and wider stakeholders.
Cornerstone Employers will work with the Lancashire Careers Hub to support delivery of the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hubs Future Workforce objectives, ensuring to raise awareness of career opportunities in key local priority sectors including Energy & Low Carbon, Manufacturing, Tourism, Culture & Place, Food & Agriculture, Digital, and Health.
The Lancashire Cornerstone Group will work with the Lancashire Careers Hub to support all year groups in accessing impactful careers education. Each Cornerstone (listed below) will contribute to the delivery and promotion of high quality employer encounters, working collaboratively to support the achievement of Lancashire key strategic themes and priorities.
