Thursday 23rd June 2022 saw the return of the face to face annual conference of the Lancashire Careers Hub. Bringing together Career Leaders, Head Teachers and Enterprise Advisers, the event focused on how all can improve the standard of careers provision.

Workshop 1 – Careers in the Curriculum – Hear from Career leaders from Alternative Provision schools who have ensured careers provision is embedded into the curriculum and supported and championed by all staff. We also have a Career Leader who is working with a local business network to improve provision. Leave with tips, an action plan and next steps and aims for the next academic year.
Workshop 2 – Maximising School and Employer stakeholder relationships – During this workshop we will be exploring engagement between Enterprise Advisers and Career Leaders and wider employer engagement practice. What is the best way to make these relationships most effective? In addition to discussing best practice, we will also highlight barriers to overcome and how to grow your employer portfolio.
Workshop 3 – Experience of the Workplace – Learn about the wide variety of aspirational and diverse Workplace Experiences that you can make available to your students. Listen to Employers describe the benefits of employing young people with relevant experiences and skills and to Careers Leaders who are successfully equipping their students with a range of activities that encourage work readiness and goal setting.
Workshop 4 – Developing Alumni and Destination Data – Hear from Career Leaders who have successfully mastered the difficult task of keeping in contact with Alumni and how this impacts the collection of destinations data as well as looking at how social media can positively impact the process.
