Education Business Partnership (EBP) North West Maths focused lesson plans have been designed by Maths specialists for KS3 and 4 students (dependent on student’s ability).
They are stand-alone lessons of 1 hour with some including extension activities.
They can be delivered in any order and have been designed so they can be taught with little teacher preparation – they are in principle ready to use and go.
The Lesson Plans included cover:
Hospitality and Catering: Choice Hotels power point covering weights, measures, costings, and fractions with an example sheet of how mathematics is used in industry per role at the hotel.
Construction/Quantity Surveyor: Places for People (covering measurements, costings, and calculations) plus quantity surveyor lesson plan, 3 tasks and an extension challenge (cost sheet, refurbishment specification, and student answer booklet)
Manufacturing & Production: Granite House Preston PowerPoint covering shapes and area calculations, converting units of length, size, and costings
Manufacturing/Engineering/Catering: Leyland Trucks and Adecco PowerPoint covering examples of why maths is important in the workplace with examples, personal finance and budgeting.
